Tuscany – Rome Luxury Hotel Package
The Trevi Fountain is one of Rome’s most famous landmarks.
The Hotel Majestic in Rome is one of my favorite places, so the press release about this Tuscany – Rome luxury hotel package caught my attention when it appeared in my email inbox.
Here’s the deal: two nights at the Hotel Majestic and two nights at the Terme di Saturnia Spa & Golf Resort in Tuscany, plus daily buffet breakfast, private transfer from the Rome airport to Hotel Majestic, private roundtrip transfers between the two properties, and use of the thermal pools and more at Terme di Saturnia for about US$700 (€554) per room per night (based on double occupancy). Additional room nights can be added (and in my opinion should be added) for about US$600 (€480) per room, per night.
My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Majestic the last time we were in Rome, and I find two things about this package especially appealing: the breakfast, because I can visualize the leafy patio where it is served, and the transfer from the Rome airport – because I still have nightmares about driving our rental car through Rome traffic and almost missing our flight. I also remember loving the hotel’s location on the Via Veneto and – for some reason – how comfortable the beds felt when I dropped my weary-from-sightseeing body on their high-thread-count linens. The 98-room hotel was built in 1889 and has an elegant marble lobby.

The “Via Clodia Package” is named for the historic path connecting Rome and the Tuscan Maremma town of Saturnia. Ancient Romans took in the riches of the Eternal City and then traveled north to find peace and quiet in the green pastures of Tuscany.
At Terme di Saturnia, use of the famed thermal pools, sauna, steam bath, guided morning walks, tennis, golf driving range, and the gym are included in the package. Greens fees on the 18-hole golf course and spa treatments are at an extra charge. Both properties are members of Leading Hotels of the World.
This Roman holiday – Tuscan experience luxury package is valid August 26 to December 26, 2012 – a time when temperatures are mild, crowds small, and airfare relatively affordable.
