Share a Travel Book or Movie

I know you read. Don’t be shy. Tell us about your favorite travel book or movie.

I know it’s a good idea to read a novel set in the destination of my next trip, but sometimes it’s hard to find a good one. You could do your fellow travelers (and me) a big favor by sharing the titles of some of your favorites. This also applies to non-fiction books and movies.

I watched Indochine before going to Vietnam and read Up Country while I was there. Both greatly enriched my travels. However, I searched in vain for a book set in the Caribbean before we went to Nevis.

After I receive enough recommended books and movies on one destination, I’ll lump them into a blog post – and credit you for your recommendation (unless you prefer to be anonymous).

Leave your book and movie titles on the comment form at the end of an appropriate blog post. For instance, leave suggestions for books and movies about New Zealand on the comment form at the bottom of The Best New Zealand Scenery or New Zealand: The Real Down Under Wonders.
